Dr. Richard Webster

So, you know you’re going to have braces for the next couple of years and you’ve heard that you can choose rubber bands from several colors. But what color should you choose? There are two types of elastic or rubber bands that go around each bracket that hold the arch wire in place, and are used to push or pull teeth in a particular direction. Why my trainer stresses about my digestive system?

Dr. Richard Webster

Hey guys, Melynda here! This Saturday, March 26, will be the day I will step on stage! I have been committed to getting in shape for this event for 12 long weeks. I am so nervous to show what I have worked hard for.

I can’t show you before and after photos, but I can tell you this. I use to be a runway model and very skinny. I weighed 130 lbs. at 5’10”. It was very hard for me to put on the muscle because I was so skinny, so that’s where the diet came in. Now, if I wasn’t training for this competition I would be 140lbs. with 10 pounds of muscle! Remember muscle weighs more than fat!

Isn’t Creatine bad for your body?!

Dr. Richard Webster

Hi guys! I hope you liked the upper body work out I gave you last week. If you haven’t seen it, you can view it here! This week I want to give you guys an overview of what supplements I take. There are so many brands and products out there, and you really have to try a few until you find the right ones that work with your body. So, about 30 minutes before my workout, I take a pre-workout which helps my energy level, amino acids that help with muscle recovery, and I also take creatine for muscle growth.

Alright, alright, alriiight… You’re going to learn today!

Dr. Richard Webster

Hey everyone, Melynda here! I hope you guys tried those turkey meatballs. Here’s a tip — they are great with siracha sauce. Now that I have given you guys a week to prep for your meals, I hope you are all motivated to get out and go to that gym! Now it may come to a surprise, but I only go to the gym four times a week! Yup that’s right, only four times. The reason for that is because I am training for the Jay Cutler Desert Classic and over exertion will only damage what I want and need for the competition. Training five days a week is okay as well. Just make sure you at least have 2 days to rest.

So Halloween’s almost here . . .

Dr. Richard Webster

So Halloween’s almost here . . .

I love it when October comes for many reasons.  It means no more scorching hot summer days in Las Vegas, and it means that the holidays are right around the corner, starting with one of my favorites, Halloween.  Ahhhhhh Halloween . . . the night when various costumes are used to try and get as much candy as possible, and on that note, I must “get up on my soap box” and warn everyone about those sugary pursuits.

What’s the deal with extracting teeth?

Dr. Richard Webster

In some cases, orthodontic treatment may require the extraction of teeth to obtain a successful result. This situation usually involves severe crowding of teeth or a bite problem. This kind of extraction treatment was regularly done by orthodontists in the 70’s and 80’s, and it was called “4-on-the-floor” because it usually required that 4 teeth (2 upper teeth and 2 lower teeth) be removed.
