Are You Keeping Your Braces Survival Kit With You?

Can you believe that the summer is almost over? Making the transition back into the early morning routine to head back to school may be challenging I’m sure! Exciting thing is that you get to go school shopping! So, while you’re shopping don’t forget to prepare for  your back to school braces survival kit.

Your kit should have these basics:

–Wax: We understand how hard it would be to focus on class if one of your brackets starts to irritate you. A piece of wax will give you much needed relief.

–Toothbrush & Toothpaste: A travel sized toothbrush and toothpaste is important for brushing after lunch. Clean up that smile with some mouthwash for minty fresh breath!

–Floss: Floss can help remove the food stuck in your teeth. Sometimes your toothbrush just can’t reach everything.

–Mirror: I know what you’re thinking! Why would I need a mirror? For smile checks of course…

–Extra Rubber Bands: When rubber bands are apart of your treatment, it is always wise to bring some extra to school just in case a band breaks or gets lost.

Continue eating smart! Stay away from hard, gooey, and sticky foods. Choose foods that won’t harm your braces like yogurt or applesauce. Drink lot’s of water, and wear a mouth guard if you’re playing sports.
