Damon braces are just like traditional metal braces, but Damon brackets are the type of brackets known as self- ligating. To “ligate” means to bind or tie. These braces are held together by o-rings that secure brackets to move naturally with your teeth. Braces are attached to memory wire that connects slide brackets. They are then set to move your teeth gradually, tightening over time. The process uses less force than traditional braces, which often require supplemental treatment through tooth extractions and palatal expanders.
